Solar

Solar

A large number of companies have invested in PV installation in recent years. Guiding principles were not only energy consumption and available roof area, but often also the subsidies in place at the time.

In the process, the relatively high cost of the systems meant that the panels were often aligned in rows facing south, leaving much valuable space unused. Solar panels are now mainstream, and this translates into the fact that the price of solar panels has fallen sharply over the past year.

Combining solar with a battery suddenly opens up new possibilities where it is often more interesting to use the roof area as optimally as possible via an east-west arrangement.

Battery

Battery

To ensure the quality of our systems, our philosophy is to always work with battery cells manufactured by a so-called Tier-1 manufacturer.

Currently, the most widely used technology for stationary energy storage is lithium iron phosphate (LiFePO4 or LFP). The big advantage of these batteries, although a bit heavier, is that they can handle substantially more charge cycles and are a whole lot friendlier to the environment.

An additional advantage is that they are a lot less fire-prone than most batteries used in electric vehicles.

Energy Management

Our batteries have an Energy Management System as standard. This EMS is linked to the BMS (battery management system) on the one hand, but it also knows exactly how much the solar panels are producing and what is being consumed on a site. This allows the system to be internally programmed for optimal control of the various energy flows.

In addition, by externally linking to the trading platform of one of our partners, the battery can be deployed on the various energy markets. This can significantly increase the efficiency of a system!
